A full-bodied red with so much ripe berry and plum fruit that it verges on jammy, yet it turns out velvety and delicious. Will improve with age. A blend of cabernet franc, merlot, sangiovese, cabernet sauvignon, petit verdot, syrah, and alicante. Made from biodynamically grown grapes.

An IGT Toscana blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Alicante, the 2010 Caiarossa is a tremendous wine. The bouquet is rich and compelling with deep layers of dark fruit, spice and chocolate. Given the complexity of the blend, it’s hard to identify any single variety although the softness of Merlot and the structure of the two Cabernet grapes definitely comes through in the mouth.
